All stakeholders (students, staff, parents and community members) are welcome to nominate WGS staff members for Teacher of the Year or School-Related Employee of the Year. Nominations will be accepted through November 3rd. You may visit the office to nominate an individual in person or you may submit your nominations by using the links below.

Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts for girls in grades 6-8 will be on Mon (11/4) and Tues. (11/5) from 3:00-4:30pm. Any girls attending tryouts must have a sports physical to participate.

Reminder 10/18 is WGS Pink Out & Teacher vs. Volleyball Game at 1pm . Concessions for purchase will be available at the volleyball game. Parents of volleyball players are invited to attend but must sign-in at the front office prior to the game beginning. Parents of players will need identification to sign-in.

Good morning. There will be some changes to the student lunch menu this week due to delivery issues caused by the hurricane.

Friday - chicken nuggets and a roll

Silver bear will be extremely late today. I will send a message when it leaves the school so you can be prepared with your child out by the road, but it is coming.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16 is Unity Day. This is a signature event of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. To participate in Unity Day, individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear or share orange to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent students being bullied.

Reminder: Cross Country Meet at LMS Wednesday at 4:00. Bring your uniform to school. If you need a ride there, let us know. Parents must pick up their runner at LMS after the race, approximately 5:00.

After meeting with Glades County Emergency Management this morning, the Glades County School District has decided to also cancel school for Thursday, October 10th. There will be no school on October 8th through October 10th. We will continue to update everyone as we are updated.

Tomorrow's volleyball game against Osceola has been cancelled.

Glades County Schools & District Office will be closed on Tuesday & Wednesday due to the approaching storm. The safety of our students & staff remains our top priority. Additionally, we want to inform you West Glades School will be opening as a shelter on Tuesday for those who require assistance. Please stay informed and take care, thank you!
